Abbott Pleased With Debate Performance

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has been buoyed by the leaders' debate overnight, after delivering a strong and disciplined performance.

There was no new policy in the discussion, with both leaders sticking to their message on issues like industrial relations, asylum seekers and climate change.

MR ABBOTT focused on Labor's record, saying previous poor results shouldn't get them re-elected.
